Catching Some Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzs

As any student in my class knows, I’ve been extra tired lately.  I have found some interesting information all over the web about sleep tips and ideas.  What intrigues me the most is how much conflicting information there is out there.  One site may say that naps are bad, another to limit them to 20 minutes, and another that even an hour and a half can be fine.

All this thought about sleep made me start thinking about my students and their sleep habits.  (I’m actually wondering how much sleep other adults get too.)  I’d say that I get about 6.5 to 8 hours of sleep each night, depending on how early I conk out each night.  Before bed, my husband likes to watch TV, but I mostly read a book to calm my brain.  On the weekends, I like to nap, but I can never seem to nap very long, and when I do, it takes me hours to “wake up” my brain.

How much sleep do you normall get each night?  Are there any things you do to help yourself fall asleep?  Do you nap?  Do you have any tips for people who have trouble with sleeping?

I normally get 10 to 11 hours of sleep. I watch television to help me fall asleep. I don’t take naps unless I have been swimming or running around all morning. If you have trouble sleeping try to do what I do try to run or swim for about 5 hours them you mite fall asleep(if I were you I would rather swim.)

I usually get 9 to 10 hours of sleep a day. Because I always stay up late reading books. (That’s how I became nearsighted) I never take naps when my younger brother runs around the house SCREAMING, so you can clearly see that I can NEVER take naps. My tip on how to sleep is to find a comfy, quiet place to snooze. After you layed down, with your eyes closed, count backwards from 100 in your head.

I have a colleague at school that has been in trouble to sleep for some years now. She has tried several treatments and different medical approaches, but nothing seems to sort a satisfactory effect.
I sleep less than usual when I’m engaged in blogging competitions, but I guess this happens to all of us. I love to nap, but I seldom I’m allowed to, as a bunch of urgent tasks keep running around the house SCREAMING, as Tiffany’s younger brother.
As I have a “fine hear” – I can hear the tiny Mosquito sound forbidden to adults – I only can fall asleep if I cover my hearings with silicone pads. I’ ve been trying this solution for more than 20 years now, since I had a neigbhour that loved opera.

Every night, I get 8-6 hours of sleep.I always have trouble sleeping.I mostly just play videogames until it is time for bed. Then I lay down in bed until I fall asleep. For some reason I can never take a nap during the daytime. I dont know why that happens to me. Here is a tip. If you sleep with younger brothers or sisters, and they talk a lot, stick a sock into their mouth and use duck tape to shut their mouthes.I feel like doing that to my brothers a WHOLE lot.

I normally get eight to nine hours of sleep everyday. I know it’s not a lot, but I just can’t sleep at night. So I probablly don’t have a lot of good sleeping tips. I don’t really nap a lot. I only nap if I am really tired or if i am sick. I go to sleep at like 9:50 or 10:00. Between that time. You may think I don’t get a lot of sleep, but for me I do.

I can get anywhere from 8hrs-3hrs sleep depending on my mood or what’s in my head! I have found that laying off the coke or any caffiene drink after dinner helps heaps. Also, if I find myself restless I will lay off watching any heavy documentaries on the TV, watch light hearted stuff before you go to bed! mrjohnson73.edublogs.org

I totally agree with you. There is just not enough time to sleep during the night. With so many activities, it is hard to go to bed early. But, I do look forward to sleeping. Theres nothing better than a nice bed and pillow. I usually get around 6-8 hours of sleep. And, before that I always watch my tv!
