I’m from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia and I live on the little island below the mainland of Australia. We are the anchor that keeps the big island from floating away. To get in or out of Tasmania you have to fly or go by boat overnight from Devonport.

Tasmania is a lovely green state but because of drought we are very dry looking at the moment. Our state is very famous for its forests and National Parks. We are very strict about our quarantine laws so you cannot bring any fresh food into the state especially fruit and vegetables as they might bring in diseases that could wipe out some of our crops.

I personally have travelled to many countries during my lifetime but I always return to Tassie.

I’m from Wellington, New Zealand and I’m a national ICT advisor to schools. Many people call this city ‘windy wellington’ and it certainly can be at times. Still, there is also the saying that ‘you can’t beat Wellington on a good day’ and with the sun out and the sea calm it is a beautiful place. Wellington is built around a bay and ferrys sail from here to the South Island.

Gidday from country Victoria, Australia, about 200km (120 miles) north of Melbourne. Our town has about 6000 people in it and about a third of the kids at school live on surrounding farms. Most of the farms around here are dairy, beef or orchards. My family and I live on a small beef farm, although we have no stock at the moment because we are in drought.
Our school year starts in late January and finishes in mid-December, so we are soon to start our final term of the year. My grade 5/6 class started our blog in January but lately we have been branching out into wikis too. There’s a lot for us to learn!
